Esan Akü was founded in Istanbul in 1978 and, as its business grew, built a new plant in Ayazağa in 1999 where it moved all production and management. The company is a founding member of AKÜDER, the battery manufacturing and recycling association licensed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in 2005.

Smart and robotic production lines, high-tech charging systems and quality machinery have made Esan Akü a sector leader. It exports about 65% of its output to more than 60 countries across four continents.
